Multimedia Development Corporation (MDC) is currently planning for a possible participation in the upcoming ASOCIO ICT Summit and Exhibition 2004, Sri Lanka which will be held from 30th November to 5th December 2004
ASOCIO ICT Summit and Exhibition, is one of the largest of its kind and Sri Lanka has been chosen as the venue for this year, the 20th anniversary of ASOCIO (Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization). ASOCIO is a regional ICT body inaugurated in Japan in 1984 with six member countries, and has now grown to a nineteen-member body, further strengthened by five guest members. ASOCIO members represent over 10,000 companies in Japan, Australia, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, UK, USA, Canada, France and Spain.
ASOCIO ICT Summit 2004 is hosted and organized by the Federation of Information Technology Industry Societies (FITIS), the Sri Lanka Computer Vendors Association (SLCVA), the Sri Lanka Association for the Software Industry (SLASI) and the Association of Computer Training Organizations (ACTOS). It is also funded and underwritten by the Infotel Lanka Society, an institution specializing in the organizing of trade and professional exhibitions and seminars to support the ICT industry in Sri Lanka. Moreover, Government sanction and support for the event is channeled through the ICT Agency (ICTA), The Board of Investment (BOI) and the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB).

The exhibition will also focus on the key segments of growth within the ICT Industry such as, e-Governance, ICT enabled services and BPO Technology for Apparel Sector, Societal Applications and Wireless Technology. Approximately 300 of the 600 delegates expected for ASOCIO 2004 will be from ASOCIO member countries and the organizers have doubled their exhibit space capacity to accommodate 60 international and over 200 local exhibitors of products and services.
MDC thru our MSC-TDF Market Access program is currently assisting to coordinate a participation in this event, amongst other major exhibitions. The extent of participation will depend on the interests of our members. With regards to that, we seek your cooperation by providing us some feedback on your interests to participate in this event.
