MDC has been invited to participate at the Middle East Financial Technology Exhibition & Conference (MEFTEC) in Bahrain, to be held from 22-24 November 2004.
 
MEFTEC 2004 is a vertical event focusing exclusively on the highly specialised IT needs of the Middle Eastern financial services sector and this event is strongly supported by the Bahrain Monetary Agency. The Middle East is one of the world’s fastest growing markets for banking and financial technologies and this event will be held in Bahrain, the heart of the region’s financial capital. In Bahrain alone, there are 186 banks and banking-related institutions, 163 insurance and insurance-related firms and 13 capital market brokers, which is by far the largest concentration of financial institutions in the Middle East region. Taking into account that the region’s banks and financial institutions spent more than US$1 billion on technology acquisition and upgrades in 2003, there should be excellent opportunities for Malaysian companies in this growing market.
 
With this in mind, MDC will be organising a business mission to Bahrain during MEFTEC 2004 with a selected group of companies to promote Malaysia’s ICT solutions in the financial services to the Middle East market. The main objective of this visit is to prospect for business opportunities in this sector during the event. We would, therefore, like to invite your organisation to participate in this business mission and the MEFTEC conference.

The proposed date for this visit is from the 20th November 2004 till 26th November 2004. We will be arranging meetings with relevant local companies upon confirmation of your participation and receipt of relevant information as required by the attached form. The completed Registration Form together with a cheque of RM500.00 per company should reach us by 31st October 2004. This fee will be utilised to offset the costs incurred for setting up business meetings. It will not however include flights, visa, accommodations or meals which participants have to bear.

As for the MEFTEC Conference Registration Fee, we would like to suggest that you register through us so that as a group, we would be eligible to get the discounted registration fee of USD 855/- which is equivalent to RM 3,249/-.

While we will try our best to assist you with arranging for accommodation, please liaise directly with House of Travel, Bahrain for your hotel bookings. A list of hotels in Bahrain and booking details is enclosed for your kind consideration. For your information, MDC’s representatives are tentatively booked at Elite Suites Hotel, which is adjacent to the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre, the venue for MEFTEC.
