MDC Names New CEO

Cyberjaya, 30 December 2005 – The Multimedia Development Corporation (MDC) today announced the appointment of  Badlisham Ghazali, 42, as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with effect from 16 January 2006.


Badlisham Ghazali will succeed Datuk Dr. Mohamed Arif Nun who will complete his three year tenure as CEO of MDC on 31 December 2005.

A familiar name in the ICT industry, Badlisham Ghazali brings to MDC more than 18 years of experience in the field of technical solutions, marketing, sales and international management having worked at a number of strategic positions whilst at HP. He was the Director and Country General Manager of Hewlett-Packard in Malaysia and Country General Manager of HP Technology Solutions Group (TSG).

Prior to the merger between Hewlett-Packard Co. and Compaq Corp. in May 2002, Badlisham Ghazali was the Managing Director and General Manager of Business Customer Organisation of Hewlett-Packard Sales (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (HPSM).

Badlisham started his career in HPSM in 1988 as an industrial trainee and within a year, had progressed to a Senior Sales Executive position. In the first 3 years alone in HPSM, Badlisham became the focal person to manage Govt. accounts.

In November, 1994, Badlisham was given the responsibility to manage all of the Computer Systems Organization and was named the Country Manager of CSO, HP.


By August 1996, Badlisham was identified to spearhead Hewlett-Packard Sales (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd as their Managing Director, at the age of 33. He was the youngest appointed Managing Director for HP Malaysia at the time. 

 

Badlisham holds a B.Sc degree majoring in Computer Science from the University of Northern Illinois, United States of America and a Diploma in Computer Science from Institute Technology of MARA, Malaysia.

 

Badlisham is married with 2 daughters.
